Based on 613 reviewsRiverbend Restaurant is widely praised for its consistently fresh and flavorful seafood, with particular emphasis on its signature fried catfish and classic Southern sides such as hush puppies, coleslaw, and French fries. Patrons appreciate the generous portions, especially the all-you-can-eat catfish option, and the inviting, rustic atmosphere enhanced by scenic river views. The restaurant's longstanding reputation and personable staff contribute to a welcoming dining experience, often described as a local gem. While most feedback is positive, some guests note that certain items like the fries could benefit from a crisper preparation. Overall, Riverbend stands out as a beloved, reliable destination for traditional Southern seafood in the Thomaston area.
Excellent catfish dinner filets and bone in. Salad was one of the freshest I have ever eaten. However the fries could’ve been crispier they were a little soggy. Only thing that was make the place better is if they fried the fries for a little while longer.
We had the catfish filets. Our meal came with French fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and delicious. Joanie our waitress was amazing.
We hadn’t been in over 20 years, but this place hasn’t changed at all. Simple things like butter and crackers on the table, full pitchers for each table etc. If you like catfish, you’ll love this place. Views overlooking the river during sunset...so nice.
This place is definitely a jewel of Thomaston and truly one-of-a-kind. You won't find another place with AYCE catfish like this. Hella good
My family has eaten at River Bend restaurant for over 40 years! Love, love the fried catfish, hot and moist everytime! Hush puppies and French fries fried to a golden brown. Cole slaw is so good and fluffy. The owners are personable and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant! Anything you order is wonderful. Definitely worth our 45 mins drive!
From the minute you walk in the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff is friendly and the owner is always around to shake your hand and check on you. The food is delicious and the portions are more than enough. All this plus some amazing views of the Flint River. Highly recommend.
Awesome food. Awesome service. Sits on a bend on the Flint River. Beautiful views
WE LOVED RIVERBEND . Steaks and fish are super good !! The service is so friendly. And what an pretty outdoor setting get there an hour and a half before sunset and then watch the sunset as you're finishing dinner !! Worth a drive !! Hey Owners : Would you consider serving REAL butter ? Butter is healthier and not dangerous like margarine . Order my favorite the fish or the steak and you will not be disappointed--- this is a super place to eat with super friendly service, probably the best restaurant in a 15 or 20 mi radius or more! 5 Stars .
